Had to say that. This toaster does a good job, I especially like the bagel setting which toasts a bagel to a crispy perfection. And it is beautiful on my counter. The shinny red looks like a candy apple finish. Very classy and makes you smile in the morning.

The picture doesn't do this toaster justice. It is a shiny, metallic red and is a real beauty. I had to play with the toaster settings to get it just right for my english muffins (the first time I got them too crispy and the second time too light), but once I found the right setting, I have had perfect toasting success.

We loved this toaster! The settings for defrost, reheat, bagel and cancel all function well as do the 7 scales of darkness. The crumb tray is easy to remove and clean.

We carry/use this toaster in our RV and find that it only has two drawbacks 1) the paint scratches easily (2) the short cord barely reaches outlets located on the underside of upper cabinets.

This toaster worked pretty well for 5 years, which is why it gets 2 stars. The LED lights stayed on all the time, which was OK since they're not exactly energy hogs. However, after 5 years, the LED's went out. I opened it up...the circuit board was toast. I emailed Oster. They said to check with a local repair center. I did...I can get a new crumb tray but am out of luck with the circuit board. I've responded to Oster and we'll see what they say but I don't expect too much. I will certainly add to this review if I'm pleasantly surprised. Going to the digital age is great but toasters have been around for a while. If complex circuitry makes them only break faster, I'm opposed.

Well, here's my response from Oster:
"We want to assure you that we do appreciate your input, suggestions, and criticisms. Your opinions are helpful to us and we apologize for any inconvenience and frustration. Your comments have been documented."

I am now contemplating how much money we could save by implementing this customer service policy at my company. Believing that somehow documenting the problem makes it all better is a good strategy if you want to lose customers. Oster has succeeded if that was their goal.

This was a fine toaster until it stopped working. Now it toasts only on the inside sides of the toaster, and even on those sides a lot of the burner wires are burned out entirely.

Of course we didn't save any warranty info, but if we had, it wouldn't be worth the cost of shipping to send it back for repair.

Don't waste your money!!!
