This beautiful red toaster has wide slots and different settings for different types of bread or bagels, etc. The light and dark settings are accurate. And this toaster has a separate button for popping out your toast if you don't wish to wait a long time. very happy with this toaster and the looks. gigi

Oster 6307 Inspire 2-Slice Toaster, Red Best Quality

I needed a new toaster oven, and started searching eBay for the old GE types that I had owned and loved in the past (I loved the size, the top broil feature and the reliability)...but, whew!...prices get a bit steep for the retro models that are used and who knows how close to giving out.
One day I found a great "buy-it-now" price on the Oster Red Convection/toaster oven and went with it.
It took some getting used to because it is much bigger than the retro toaster ovens I was used to and the toasting function was lousy. But for warming up, cooking and broiling, it really is quite good.
So I needed a toaster. I didn't like the idea of a hodge-podge of appliance finishes so I started looking for the matching Oster 2-slice toaster. The best deal was on Amazon, through Target, so I bought it. It is quite good, but usually, one side is slightly darker than the other...not a major concern for myself. It does well with bagels also. If you like the red/cinnamon color go for it.

The Amazon reviews are mixed, and for good reason. Mine arrived with a couple small scratches in the otherwise very cool candy-apple red surface. Oh well. But the really bad news was yet to come. After doing the suggested burn-in (one cycle with no bread - and yep, there really is a noxious odor from that), I set the darkness control to about 4.5 (ranges from 1 to 7). Burnt, completely burnt. So I set it down to 3.5. Burnt again. 2.5 - barely brown. 3 - burnt. And, as other reviews note, it doesn't toast evenly on both sides. One reviewer thought that was great; I think it sucks. I guess Oster is owned by Sunbeam, and who knows who owns them, but these products that are thrown together in China or elsewhere where they pay $.02/hr for labor can hardly be expected to be reliable, can they? Aint the global economy f'in' wonderful?!

Even after about one year, the toast would occasionally not stay down, but now, after about 18 months, the toaster will not work. Called Sunbeam, who owns Oster, and they said sorry, nothing we can do, you are outside the warranty.

So, for these reasons, I cannot recommend this product, or other products by Oster.

Bought this toaster less than two months ago and it's already broken. The control buttons (one of the reasons why we bought it) are not functioning, neither is the darkness control knob. Once it's put into the toast position, it does not shut off, you have to push up the lever manually. My son put in some Toaster Swirls only to set off the smoke alarm. This is the second time a product (a rice cooker)from this brand has broken within months of purchase. I'm just going to avoid Oster at all costs in the future.

I purchased this toaster a couple of days ago and plan to return it. Using the bagel setting on 2 1/2, I ended up with a rock hard, partly burnt bagel. Tried using the regular toast setting and ended up with toast that was almost burnt on the bottom half of both slices while normally toasted on the top. Would recommend not purchasing this toaster.
